The Jackson County RoseQueen Scholarship Pageant began as an official event of the Jackson County Rose Festival in 1960. Jackson County's first RoseQueen crowned was Lynn Watson.

The RoseQueen Scholarship Pageant has a contract agreement with the Miss Michigan Scholarship Pageant and the Miss America Pageant. More than a half a million dollars in cash and in-kind scholarships has been awarded to contestants in the RoseQueen Scholarship Pageant since it's inception. Scholarships are intended to support the educational pursuits of the young women competing.

On August 27, 2011 Maegan Budd was crowned
Miss Jackson County RoseQueen 2011 at JCC Potter
Maegan will represent Jackson County in the
Miss Michigan pageant in June, 2012 in Muskegon, MI.
In addition to the coveted title, Maegan was awarded a prize package
worth more than $28,000.00 in scholarships and prizes.
